Cáceres World Heritage Seal (block sheet)

Price unit:
5,80 €

Description

Discover this block sheet dedicated to Cáceres, one of the architectural jewels of Spain. It belongs to the series Urban Ensembles World Heritage Site.

This seal, shaped like a chalcography, and in a block sheet format, is dedicated to Cáceres. The main motif is the façade of the Church of San Francisco Javier, of Baroque origin, built next to a convent thanks to the fortune of a Jesuit member of the Figueroa family.

Since 1986, Cáceres has held the title of World Heritage City granted by UNESCO, thus recognizing the important historical complex in which the testimonies of the various historical stages are mixed. The city, which was occupied since Prehistory, still keeps the footprint of all its inhabitants in its archaeological remains, traditions and in the excellent architecture of the medieval and Renaissance historic center.

This diversity allows us to access the Monumental City through a Roman door and exit through a Baroque style; enter a Jewish quarter as soon as we leave an Almohad tower or admire a Mudejar façade next to a Renaissance palace.

Its historic center impresses with the many palaces, the co-cathedral of Santa María, its two Jewish neighborhoods, churches and convents very well preserved, which have served as a claim, among other productions, for the filming of series such as "Game of Thrones" or "The Cathedral of the Sea". The Arco del Cristo, the Bujaco Tower and the popular Plaza de San Jorge, also underline the beauty of Cáceres.

The great buildings of Cáceres were built mostly thanks to the goods generated with the discovery of America.

Although many of its historic buildings are reconstructed, it is surprising and admirable the great state of conservation in which most of them are kept.

What is a block sheet, and how is it different from a normal seal?

Taking into account that the normal seal has only the surface occupied by the seal, the block sheet is an illustrated surface where one or more seals can appear, so its dimension will be larger, occupying that of the seal and the rest of the sheet and, their sizes and shapes can be very varied.

A curious fact that it also differentiates the seal and the block sheet, it is that in the first one no living characters can appear, but in the environment of the seal in the block sheet yes.
