We dedicate a stamp to the wonderful park of Cabárceno, in Cantabria, where we can find more than 1,000 animals, including: zebras, elephants, and giraffes ... get to know it and enjoy it through this seal.
The nature park of Cabárceno, 17 km from Santander, has 750 hectares of spectacular karst landscape, in which it hosts around 1,100 animals belonging to more than 100 species: elephants, giraffes, hippos, ostriches, camels, tigers, zebras, rhinoceroses, bears, gorillas... The special thing is that given its extension, the animals live in semi-freedom and makes it a paradise for fauna.
The Cantabrian park has become in its 31 years of history an international benchmark in research, reproduction and safeguarding programs of endangered species. It holds several records, including having the largest reserve of brown bears in Europe -more than 70- and the largest gorilla enclosure in Spain. It is the place in the world where more elephants have been born outside Africa -22- and the facility with the largest number of specimens of this species -20-.
It is an ideal place to spend the day with the family. It has numerous recreational areas, picnic areas, viewpoints, lakes, botanical routes, cafes, restaurants and playground. It can be visited by car, walking, cycling or from the air by gondola.
The seal is a black and white watercolor where a close-up of three animals that we can contemplate in the Nature Park appears: a zebra, an elephant and a giraffe.
