Margarita Salas (Asturias, November 30, 1938 – Madrid, November 7, 2019) began with her husband, Eladio Viñuela, the development of Molecular Biology in Spain. His study of the Phi29 phage, a virus that infects bacteria, covered all aspects of Molecular Genetics, from the information contained in its DNA to gene expression and the assembly of the structure of the virus.
This stamp will be part of the Philately and Stamps Exhibition that since last December can be seen at the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, and which will be present until September 10, 2021. An exhibition that shows how philately has represented all aspects of health, throughout history.
