Description

In homage to the last itinerant expedition, which carried postal correspondence by postal mail from the Post Office railway, we launched this double magnet.

This magnet is composed of two pieces with two magnets each; when we separate them we can look inside a traveling car of Correos.

On July 27, 1855, the first postal street line between Madrid and Albacete was created. They were wagons that functioned as authentic offices, enabled with lockers, work tables and areas where the bags with the correspondence were stored. Outside, a mailbox in one of the laterlaes allowed the letters to be deposited.

The postal itinerants performed hard and demanding work, where they had to endure the rigors of winter and summer, or the dangers of robberies, assaults and accidents.

After more than 100 years, on June 30, 1993, at 10.30 p.m., the last itinerant expedition by rail departed from the Madrid-Chamartín station, on the Madrid-Malaga express train, dragging the last mobile office (DGTC-3039) that would travel through Spanish territory.

Take this unique collectible now to remember the extraordinary work of the postal itinerant body. The image of the imam corresponds to the stamp, issued on September 14, 2018, which commemorated the 25th anniversary of the last itinerant expedition of Correos.
