Sain a 1/2 kg of honey from The Hives of Vendejo forest, pure honey of bees harvested in Liébana, Cantabria.
Vendejo Hive Forest Honey is protected by Demination of Origin Liébana Honey, which will support artisan producers in the region of Liébana, Cantabria.
The honey produced by Vendejo Hives is forest honey, with a strong component of tila, heather and, above all, even and oak twins.
It is a strong honey of flavor, very aromatic, with a high content of pollen and propoles, an effective natural antibiotic. Due to its properties, our honey is especially indicated in cases of anemia and deprived states.
Where is it harvested?
Colmenares de Vendejo emerged more than half a century ago in the small hamlet of Vendejo, in the Cantabrian region of La Liébana, about 15 kilometers from Potes. Today, our hives are spread throughout Liébana, from the foothills of the Cantabrian Mountain Range, to the Sierra de Peña Sagra and the Sakland Park.
The forests in which our bees work are covered with encins, oaks, them, cork oaks, beech trees and many fruit trees. In the highest areas, alpine vegetation is dominated by heather.
Is it made?
Our bees have a short working season: April at the end of September, In this month honey is collected in a single harvest and the colonies are allowed to rest.
Honey is carried to the workman, where it is extracted by mechanical procedures and filtered by decation. It directly passes to the maturation tanks, where it is stored until it is packaged.
The packed is pneumatic, so we make sure that honey arrives strictly pure from the honeycomb to the container.
The 1/2 kilogram container
The 1/2 kilogram honey jar is perfect for consumers who prefer a more comfortable container. It comes in glass jars with a wide mouth and very low height, which facilitates the use of honey. Plus, it's a perfect format to give away.
